Kupiansk direction: how enemy drones affect the logistics of defense

Вплив ворожих безпілотників на забезпечення оборони в районі Куп'янська.

The situation at the Kupiansk direction

The Kupiansk direction remains the epicenter of active hostilities, where Russian troops have concentrated significant forces to capture a key settlement. In these conditions, the enemy actively uses unmanned aerial vehicles to target the logistics of the Defense Forces, significantly complicating the situation at the front.

Enemy tactics

Deputy commander of the 'Phantom of Khortytsia' battalion of the 15th brigade 'Kara-Dah' Stanislav Kocherga noted that the tactics of the Russians remain unchanged. They operate in small groups that use 'very limited manpower' in one assault unit. The main goal of such groups is to 'sneak in and sit quietly until they are discovered.' This allows the enemy to remain inconspicuous and effectively strike at Ukrainian troops.

The occupiers pay special attention to the supply routes of the Defense Forces, as the enemy particularly uses drones to monitor and target these routes. Enemy UAVs continuously carry out remote mining, leading to significant complications in logistics and the movement of Ukrainian units. Stanislav Kocherga emphasized that with each period of time spent in this direction, the fiber-optic drones penetrate deeper, which further increases the threat.

The situation at the Kupiansk direction indicates growing tension in the region, where active hostilities are accompanied by new technologies, such as drones. This complicates not only military tactics but also the logistics of Ukrainian forces, which can have serious consequences for their ability to respond to further threats. Increased attention to supply routes indicates the strategic importance of controlling these routes for both sides of the conflict.
