Currency dynamics since the beginning of the year
Since January 1, the official euro exchange rate has increased by 1.44 UAH - from 49.79 to 51.23 UAH. At the same time, the US dollar has depreciated by 61 kopecks during this period. In the interbank market, the euro has gained more than 1.5 UAH, while the dollar has risen by less than one UAH.
Experts explain the rise in the euro exchange rate by the strengthening of the European currency on international markets against the dollar. At the same time, the dollar to UAH exchange rate is decreasing due to a reduced demand for American currency within the country.
We remind you that the situation in the currency market was commented on by economist Oleksiy Plotnikov in an interview with Novyny.LIVE. According to him, the growth of the exchange rate is logical considering budgetary needs and the overall devaluation trend.
