An successful operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place in northern Slobozhanshchyna, as reported by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. Over the year, Ukrainian troops were able to take significant territory control in the Kursk region, inflicting heavy losses on the occupiers. In total, the enemy lost more than 77 thousand servicemen, of which 4 thousand were citizens of North Korea.
«We demoralized the personnel of the Russians and forced them to redeploy considerable reserves to the Kursk region, weakening pressure on other fronts. At the same time, we did not allow the enemy to implement their offensive plans and formed a buffer zone, through which Sumy and Kharkiv remain on free Ukrainian land,» emphasized Syrskyi.
Additionally, the leader of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that more than 7000 units of Russian weapons and military equipment were destroyed or damaged, including 211 tanks, 1083 armored personnel carriers, and 907 artillery systems. Furthermore, humanitarian results were achieved through prisoner exchanges and the return of Ukrainian warriors home.
