The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, noted that the planning and execution of the Kursk operation, which lasted more than a year, was carried out by only three or four people. This allowed for the confidentiality of future actions to be maintained even from commanders.
Commanders knew that they would participate in offensive actions. They prepared their units, but did not know the exact details. When they received combat orders, they remained true to confidentiality.
Results of the operation
Syrsky also reported that the enemy lost more than 77 thousand servicemen killed and wounded, including about 4 thousand citizens of North Korea. The Armed Forces of Ukraine controlled more than 1300 sq. km of the Kursk region. The 'Kursk' grouping was destroyed or damaged by 7236 units of Russian weaponry and military equipment.
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff, General Oleg Apostol, also noted his contribution to the preparation and execution of the operation, sharing details about the actions of the 95th Air Assault Brigade.
During the conversation, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed details of the planning and results of the Kursk operation, which led to significant losses for the enemy forces and successful control over the territory of the region.
