The men's basketball team of Ukraine successfully passed the pre-qualification for the World Cup and reached the main qualifying stage. This news was published by 'Hlavkom' citing the FBU.
In the first stage of the European qualification for the World Cup 2027, our team will play in Group A along with Spain, Georgia, and Denmark, which took second place in Group D in the pre-qualification.

The most titled opponent of the Ukrainian team is the champion of the world in 2006 and 2019 (overall, the Spaniards have played in the world championships 13 times), while currently being the reigning European champion (with a total of four championship titles).
The Spanish team is currently undergoing a rejuvenation period, which is not going smoothly. In the qualification for EuroBasket-2025, the Spaniards took second place in their group, winning three out of six matches, losing twice to the Latvians and once to Slovakia in overtime.
