Kyiv City Express Expands Dnipro River Crossings with New February 17th Services

Нові перевезення через Дніпро в Києві: розширення маршрутів з 17 лютого.

Kyiv City Express Launches Additional Dnipro River Crossings

To bolster rail connectivity disrupted by severe weather in Kyiv, Kyiv City Express will introduce additional train services crossing the Dnipro River starting February 17th. This new route will connect the Vydubychi and Darnytsia stations, offering passengers a comfortable and delay-free way to traverse the distance. For many residents, the river presents a significant urban divide, making reliable crossings essential.

The fare for the journey is set at 15 UAH, with a travel time of just 10 minutes. The supplementary services will also include a stop at the Bereznyaky station, enhancing the standard Kyiv City Express schedule. Company representatives highlighted this as an ideal, stress-free method to cross the Dnipro. Tickets can be purchased online via the UZ (Ukrainian Railways) app.

Funding and Updated Timetable

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is reallocating over 1.41 billion UAH, funds originally earmarked before the full-scale war for the construction of the 'Dnipro' international airport. This money will now be used to purchase new passenger carriages, aimed at improving the comfort and safety of rail transport.

The schedule for the new services is as follows:

  • From Darnytsia to Vydubychi — 6:31, 7:31, 8:31, and 9:31
  • From Vydubychi to Darnytsia — 7:02, 8:02, and 9:02

Passengers are advised to plan their routes in advance and can purchase tickets prior to boarding.

Introducing these new river crossings is a crucial step in enhancing railway connectivity amid challenging weather conditions.

This initiative also demonstrates Kyiv City Express's efforts to adapt its services to public needs. The use of reallocated state funds for new carriages underscores the government's commitment to improving Ukraine's transport infrastructure, which is expected to positively impact passenger travel in the future.
