The National Armed Forces of Latvia are conducting large-scale military exercises Namejs 2025 from September 2 to October 8 across the country. Approximately 12 thousand servicemen from various countries and Latvian volunteers from the territorial defense - zemessargi - will participate in the exercises.

“Within the framework of Namejs 2025, the National Armed Forces will closely cooperate with the Joint Expeditionary Forces (JEF) to ensure timely monitoring of the situation, implementing deterrent measures and enhancing overall response capability in the Baltic region.”

The exercises will also involve servicemen from the USA, Estonia, Lithuania and other allied countries. In addition to military units, other services, agencies and commercial organizations will also participate.

Improving engineering capabilities

During the Namejs 2025 military exercises, significant attention will be paid to cooperation with engineers from the UK armed forces to improve engineering capabilities and interaction during operations in Latvia. These exercises play an important role in preparing the country for potential threats in the region and have been conducted since 2014.

The conduct of large-scale exercises Namejs 2025 demonstrates Latvia and its allies' readiness to respond to potential threats in the Baltic region and enhances the overall defense capability of the country.
