Award for Alina Shukh

Athlete Alina Shukh received an honorary award from the Security Service of Ukraine for her participation in the defense of Kupiansk. The award was presented to the athlete by the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk. Alina Shukh, who worked in the financial sector on February 24, 2022, is currently serving in the National Guard of Ukraine.

Military Service and Sports Achievements

Since the summer of 2025, Alina has officially been a serviceman of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine 'Charter'. She coordinates the work of English-speaking and Spanish-speaking fighters. In the spring of 2025, the athlete completed basic military training and received the call sign 'Somatra'. She also completed the Interflex commander training course in Great Britain, where she was recognized as the best participant in the training.

Alina Shukh not only excels in military achievements but also has significant successes in sports. She:

  • became the European champion among juniors in the heptathlon;
  • won a bronze medal at the European Cup in javelin throwing;
  • holds four higher education degrees, one of which she obtained in the USA.

In 2025, she received the status of a combat veteran, underscoring her contribution to the defense of the country.
