Family income limit for social assistance: are child care payments for children under one year old taken into account

During the appointment of basic social assistance, the average monthly total income of the family is taken into account, which includes certain social payments. The Pension Fund of Ukraine clarified whether the monthly child care allowance for children until they reach one year of age is included in this income. This is reported by Sud.ua.

The fund noted that basic social assistance is appointed taking into account the average monthly total income of the family. This refers to the income of all household members obtained during the three months preceding the month before applying for assistance.

Total family income for social assistance: what is taken into account

The procedure for calculating the average monthly total income for all types of state social assistance is approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 22, 2020, No. 632.

According to this procedure, the monthly payment for child care until the child reaches one year of age is included in the average monthly total income of the family.

Payments at the birth of a child: important clarification

At the same time, the Pension Fund emphasized that not all payments are considered during the income calculation. In particular, the one-time assistance at the birth of a child is not included in the average monthly total income of the family and does not affect the appointment of basic social assistance.

Earlier, we explained that the monthly child care allowance affects social payments.
