Russia dropped 127 guided bombs in a day: General Staff on the situation at the front

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian occupiers carried out 55 air strikes, dropped 127 guided bombs, and used 1964 kamikaze drones to hit the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. There were also 2869 shellings.



News of the war in Ukraine


As of December 16 at 22:00, there were 255 combat clashes. Defense shifts are aimed at disrupting the plans of Russian invaders and exhausting their combat potential.

The most active offensive actions were taken by the enemy in the Pokrovskyi direction. Details from other directions of hostilities have also become known.



In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction


Enemy forces launched 15 attacks, resulting in three air strikes, dropped eight guided bombs, and carried out 102 shellings, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.



In the Kupyanskyi direction


The enemy conducted 24 attacks towards various populated areas, with combat clashes continuing.



In the Lyman direction


In this area, 27 assaults were repelled, and combat clashes continue.



In the Sloviansk direction


The enemy carried out four attacks, with one combat clash currently ongoing.



In the Kostiantynivka direction


Enemy forces attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units but were repelled.



In the Pokrovskyi direction


The enemy carried out 60 attacks, six of which are currently ongoing.



In the Oleksandrivka direction


Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attacks, including one air strike.



In the Hulyaipole direction


In this area, there were 28 combat clashes, and the enemy was conducting air strikes.



In the Orikhiv direction


The enemy attempted to break through the defense in the areas of several populated points but was unsuccessful.



In the Dniprovskyi direction


There have been no changes in the situation in this direction.

According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military actions in eastern Ukraine are still ongoing. Russian occupiers have carried out many attacks and shellings on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. The situation remains tense, with clashes continuing in various directions, particularly in the Pokrovskyi, Lyman, and others. The withdrawal due to the large number of attacks by Russian forces is intentional, aimed at exhausting the opponent and undermining their plans to continue the war.
