Litgrid will provide Ukraine with equipment for energy networks worth 160 thousand euros

Litgrid готова надати Україні енергообладнання вартістю 160 тисяч євро для розвитку енергетичних мереж.

Litgrid's humanitarian aid for Ukraine

The Lithuanian electricity grid operator Litgrid will provide humanitarian aid for the restoration of Ukraine's energy facilities worth nearly 160 thousand euros. This aid includes the necessary equipment for restoring infrastructure that has been damaged as a result of the war.

The decision to provide assistance was approved by the company's board of directors in February. On March 13, Litgrid confirmed the implementation of this decision on the Nasdaq Vilnius stock exchange. The humanitarian aid is intended for the restoration of energy facilities that have been damaged during hostilities.

Purpose and content of humanitarian aid

The purpose of the humanitarian aid is to restore Ukrainian energy facilities that have been affected by the war, as noted by Litgrid. Contracts for the supply of equipment, which includes:

  • gas circuit breakers,
  • insulators,
  • transformers,
  • supports,
  • line fittings for electricity networks

will be concluded with organizations operating in Ukraine and complying with the requirements of international aid legislation.

Restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure is critically important in the context of the ongoing conflict, as stable electricity supply is fundamental for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihoods of the population. Litgrid's assistance reflects Lithuania's solidarity with Ukraine and underscores the importance of international aid in times of crisis. It may also encourage other countries and companies to provide support, contributing to the recovery and development of the Ukrainian energy system.
