The summer offensive of Russian troops, which began in May of this year, shows signs of serious failures just a few weeks after it started. Despite large-scale attacks along almost the entire front line, the Russian army has not managed to achieve any significant strategic breakthroughs. According to the British publication The Telegraph, Russia planned to break its own record for the number of offensive operations in June. However, even the increase in the intensity of hostilities did not bring the expected results, indicating a gradual exhaustion of the offensive potential of the Russian Federation.

On the eastern front, particularly between Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka, Russian troops have made some progress. However, military experts emphasize that this movement has not changed the overall operational situation on the front. In the Sumy region, the advance of Russian troops has been completely halted. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, officially stated that the front line in the region has been stabilized. Russian troops failed to capture the settlement of Yunakovka, which was supposed to open the way to the regional center of Sumy.

Angelika Evans from the American Institute for the Study of War noted that Russia's summer offensive is rather a continuation of the spring military campaign without formulating new strategic objectives: 'The occupiers lack the resources for deep breakthroughs.' In the Donetsk region, Russia is trying to break through to key cities - Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, and Konstantinovka. However, Ukrainian military officials note that the pace of the Russian offensive remains too slow.

During the summer offensive in Ukraine, Russian troops are facing serious problems and are not achieving the expected strategic breakthroughs. Even with the increase in the intensity of hostilities, Ukrainian forces are holding their positions, and the Russian army cannot achieve significant victories in battle. The result is a gradual depletion of Russia's offensive potential.
