Lithuania deploys troops to Ukraine

Lithuania is considering the possibility of sending several hundred of its soldiers to Ukraine as part of international security guarantees following a peace agreement. This information was announced by Lithuania's Minister of Defense Robertas Karpis in an interview with the national broadcaster LRT.

It is noted that Lithuania is actively discussing the option of deploying its military in Ukraine. This decision is linked to the signing of a declaration by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, which provides for the deployment of a multinational military contingent in Ukraine. The Lithuanian minister emphasized that the main objective remains to achieve and further ensure lasting peace in Ukraine.

Thus, Lithuania continues its support for Ukraine in the context of security guarantees and active cooperation with international partners.

This decision by Lithuania reflects its commitment to support Ukraine during a difficult period, especially in the context of international efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region. The deployment of a multinational military contingent could be an important step towards ensuring stability in Ukraine and enhancing security levels in Europe as a whole. — Lithuania's Minister of Defense Robertas Karpis
