Top Athletes of April 2026 Announced

On April 29, 2026, the Expert Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine convened to name the standout sports figures for the month. Wrestler Oksana Livach, competing in women’s freestyle wrestling, was awarded the title of best female athlete of April. She secured the European Championship gold in the under-50 kg weight class during the tournament held in Tirana, Albania. Additionally, Narek Budagyan, Livach’s personal coach, was recognized as the top coach for April.

In the junior category, fencer Alina Dmytruk was named the best young female athlete of April 2026. She earned a bronze medal at the World Fencing Championships for cadets and juniors, which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dmytruk claimed bronze in the individual cadet women’s épée event.
