Conference League Opponents Revealed for LNZ and Polissya

Команди-партнери LNZ та Полісся отримали свою доповідь щодо змагань у Лізі Конференцій.

European Rivals for Ukrainian Clubs

LNZ from Cherkasy and Zhytomyr-based Polissya now know who they will face in their debut European campaigns this season. The Ukrainian Premier League medalists have been drawn against their opponents for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League:

  • LNZ will take on Belgium's Gent;
  • Polissya is set to clash with Denmark's Copenhagen.

These two-legged ties are scheduled for July 23 and July 30.

Kyiv Dynamo and Their Prospects

Should Kyiv Dynamo fail to advance past the first qualifying round of the Europa League, they will drop down to join LNZ and Polissya in Europe's third-tier competition. Their potential opponent there would be Norway's Brann. Recently, Dynamo learned their first-round Europa League foe: Universitatea Cluj from Romania. Those matches will also take place in July. Dynamo has already secured a venue for this season's European fixtures—Ihor Kostyuk's squad will play at the same stadium in Lublin, Poland, where they competed last year.

These fixtures carry significant weight for Ukrainian clubs, as strong showings in European competitions can boost their international standings and attract new sponsors. For LNZ and Polissya, testing themselves on the continental stage marks a crucial step in their growth. Meanwhile, Dynamo has a chance to showcase its potential in the Europa League, making the July matches decisive for the path ahead of Ukrainian teams in European tournaments.

As these Ukrainian clubs prepare for their European debuts, the impact of their upcoming fixtures extends beyond the pitch. The rescheduling of matches in the Ukrainian Premier League highlights the logistical challenges they face. This reshuffling is crucial for ensuring that teams can adequately compete both domestically and on the European stage.
