Expert Reveals the Reasons for the Blackout in Ukraine
Expert Viktor Kurtev explained what caused the systemic blackout that occurred on November 23, 2022, in Ukraine.
He noted that this collapse of the energy system was the result of two minor strikes that triggered a 'cascade effect'.
“NABU, why don't you detect corruption in 'Ukrenergo'? Are these your people or what?”
Kurtev emphasized that the conclusions of the Temporary Investigative Commission only deepened the crisis, and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau did not notice corruption schemes in 'Ukrenergo'.
According to the expert, he proposed a mechanism for pre-relieving the system before the collapse, but received a cynical response from 'Ukrenergo'. It was only after the blackout that this idea was implemented, which allowed for the avoidance of similar cases in the future.
“After that, we did not face blackouts. The system did not collapse.”
The expert wonders why measures were only taken after the catastrophe, and not before it, especially considering the ongoing war.
