Lukashenko pardoned 123 prisoners: among them a Nobel laureate and Ukrainians

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, made the decision to pardon 123 prisoners after meeting with the special envoy of the U.S. president. Among those released are Nobel Peace Prize winner Ales Bialiatski, former presidential candidate Viktor Babariko, and other citizens from various countries around the world.



The decision to pardon was made as part of the agreements reached and at the request of the U.S. president, and was also noted as an act of humanity that aligns with universal human values. Ukrainian citizens held in Belarus have also been released and are preparing to return home.



On November 22, 2025, a successful operation took place to return citizens from imprisonment, during which dozens of people were granted freedom and the opportunity to return to their families.
