Lviv is holding a farewell ceremony for 37-year-old Yuriy Bondarenko, a veteran of the ATO and a serviceman of the RTC, who sustained fatal injuries during a document check. This information was reported by the portal 'Glavkom', citing hromadske.
On Rynok Square, a farewell ceremony is taking place for three soldiers: Luis Felipe Vieira Toledo Porto from Brazil, Lviv resident Andriy Krynytskyi, and Yuriy Bondarenko from Kharkiv, who was killed in Lviv on December 3rd.
Friends of Yuriy reported that after returning from the front, he could have completed his service but chose to stay because he wanted to help Ukraine. He performed his duties honestly and responsibly, devoted himself to working for the good of the state.

Biography and Military Achievements
Yuriy Bondarenko had a higher education from the Kharkiv State Zoo Veterinary Academy but worked in the restaurant business. He joined the ATO as part of the 16th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
For his service, Yuriy received the 'ATO Participant' award and the medals 'Defenders of the Motherland' and 'War Veteran'.
Tragic Death
On the evening of December 3rd, Yuriy Bondarenko was hospitalized with a critical injury to his femoral artery after being attacked by a Lviv resident who stabbed him during a document check and fled using a gas canister.
Despite the doctors' efforts, Yuriy Bondarenko could not be saved. He died from his injuries.
Lviv and all of Ukraine are bidding farewell today to the brave defender who gave his life for the defense of the Motherland. His selflessness and sacrifice will remain in the hearts of those who knew and honored Yuriy Bondarenko.
