A Running Event for Charity: PROBIG Charity Run
In wartime Ukraine, grassroots sports events have increasingly become fundraising platforms for the armed forces. One such event took place in Lviv, where the PROBIG Charity Run marked the fifth anniversary of the public organization Club PROBIG. More than 300 runners took part in person, while many others joined the initiative remotely from all over Ukraine. The race served as a key part of the "Dronopad" project, which raises money to support the Azov brigade.
Organizers reported that UAH 180,000 had been raised so far, against a target of UAH 200,000. The fundraising drive remains open, and the club hopes to reach 150 percent of the original goal. As club representatives put it:
"We had over 300 runners at this year's race. There are also participants running online across Ukraine. So far, we have collected UAH 180,000. The fundraiser was launched to support the Azov brigade under the Dronopad project, which helps destroy the enemy and protect our soldiers."
Planned Follow-Ups and Support for the Military
To keep the momentum going, a charity workout will be held on August 2 at Lem Station, with entry available in exchange for a donation. Orysia Demyanyuk, founder of the PROBIG running club, underlined the importance of standing behind the troops:
"We have several key messages: remember those who fell, fight for the prisoners, and help the living. Another one that is especially urgent today is 'Bring Fedorov back.' It is a sign that we are the strength and the authority in our own country. We will keep fighting to the end."
The event was organized by Club PROBIG with support from the Lviv sports office. The money raised will go toward strengthening the military units currently defending the country.
PROBIG Charity Run demonstrated strong public solidarity with Ukrainian forces and highlighted the importance of civic engagement during wartime.
