Explosions and smoke near Zaporizhzhia NPP - IAEA recorded the incident


The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recorded explosions and smoke near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The incident occurred due to an attack on one of the plant's auxiliary facilities, which was shelled and struck by drones.



The auxiliary facility is located 1200 meters away from the outer perimeter, and smoke was visible in that direction throughout the day. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized that any attack near a nuclear power plant is a serious threat to nuclear safety and is absolutely unacceptable.

Minister Galushchenko considers shelling of Zaporizhzhia NPP an act of nuclear terrorism


Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko believes that the shelling and blackout of Zaporizhzhia NPP constitute an act of nuclear terrorism on the part of Russia. Given the already existing problems at the plant, such as a lack of water for cooling, the IAEA warns that the start of the power units will become impossible during the conflict, posing a threat to the safety of the facility.
