About a third of Polish citizens perceive Ukraine and Ukrainians as enemies. These results were published by the General Research Group (OGB). InPoland reports this.
According to the study, 31.27% of respondents labeled Ukraine as an enemy state. At the same time, 35.9% of those surveyed stated that they consider Ukraine and the Ukrainian people as friends. The highest level of negative sentiment was recorded among young people aged 18 to 29.
Survey in Poland: how citizens assess Ukraine
Sociologists also wondered if Poland has reliable allies on the international stage. More than half of the survey participants, namely 51.31%, answered positively.
When asked, which country will help Poland in case of military threat, respondents most often mentioned:
-
USA — 43.31%;
-
United Kingdom — 36.95%;
-
Germany — 30.41%;
-
France — 27.95%.
Attitude towards allies: who do Poles trust the most
President of the National Polish-American Foundation Piotr Nowocień emphasized that in difficult times, what matters is not declarations, but real actions. «In uncertain times, a true friend is one who comes to help in case of danger, not one who speaks beautifully about values,» he said.
According to him, Poles perceive the United States as the most reliable ally, as this country is, in his opinion, «ready to act anywhere in the world.»
The survey results indicate a mixed attitude of Polish society towards Ukraine amid security challenges and international tensions.
Remember, the employment rate of Ukrainian migrants in Poland has reached 80%, which significantly exceeds the indicators of other countries.
