Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor will return to the octagon for the first time in four years. On the night of July 12 in Las Vegas, the Irishman will face American Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329. This was reported by Sport.ua.

McGregor - Holloway fight: when will the rematch take place

The main event of UFC 329 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

For Conor McGregor, this fight will be the first since 2021. He last stepped into the octagon for two fights against Dustin Poirier, after which he suffered a defeat, and in the second fight, he suffered a severe leg break.

Since then, the Irishman's return has been postponed multiple times. Additional difficulties were caused by reports of potential anti-doping rule violations and a prolonged absence from competition.

The upcoming fight will also be a rematch following their first encounter in 2013. Back then, McGregor defeated Holloway by unanimous decision in only his second fight in the UFC.

McGregor - Holloway: who is the favorite of the fight

Unlike the Irishman, Max Holloway has been actively competing in the UFC and has remained one of the leaders of the organization.

After losing to McGregor, the American went on a streak of 13 victories, defended his championship title twice, and won the BMF title. One of the brightest moments of his career was knocking out Justin Gaethje in the final seconds of the fight.

Later, Holloway lost to Ilia Topuria, who became the first fighter to knock out the American, after which he won against Dustin Poirier and lost to Charles Oliveira.

Bookmakers favor Max Holloway. His victory is offered at odds of about 1.45, while Conor McGregor's success is estimated at approximately 2.83.

Experts explain this by the active career of the American and the long break of the Irishman, who has not won fights in the UFC since 2020.
