Andre Onana Stays with Trabzonspor
Goalkeeper Andre Onana will remain at Turkish side Trabzonspor for the 2026/27 season. Manchester United has agreed to extend the loan deal with the club that finished third in Turkey’s top flight. This means Onana will play a second consecutive campaign for Trabzonspor, highlighting the club’s confidence in his abilities between the posts.
Loan Terms for the Keeper
The loan arrangement includes a fee, while Onana’s contract with Manchester United remains valid until the summer of 2028. In the summer of 2023, the Premier League club signed the Cameroonian from Inter Milan for €50.2 million. During the recently concluded season, Onana made 33 appearances for Trabzonspor across all competitions, conceding 40 goals. He also kept six clean sheets, underscoring his shot-stopping skills.
This move reflects Manchester United’s strategic approach to developing young talent, as well as Trabzonspor’s aim to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. Extending Onana’s loan suggests both clubs view him as a key asset for achieving their near-term goals. It also offers the player further career growth opportunities, as he gains more playing time in the Turkish Super Lig.
