Elon Musk launched Grokipedia: can it replace Wikipedia

Елон Маск презентував нову платформу Grokipedia: чи стане вона альтернативою Вікіпедії?

Elon Musk introduced Grokipedia - his own version of an encyclopedia, aimed at becoming a competitor to 'Wikipedia'. The platform, developed by his company 'xAI', officially launched on Monday and, according to the entrepreneur, is set to be a 'huge leap forward in understanding the Universe.'

According to The Washington Post, there are currently about 900,000 articles on the Grokipedia.com site. The platform's design resembles 'Wikipedia', but it is done in dark tones. Despite the huge launch, some users are noting problems with the technical side - in particular, errors when loading pages.

Musk positions Grokipedia as a 'politically unbiased' alternative to traditional online encyclopedias. He has previously criticized 'Wikipedia' for its 'leftist bias' and called for the funding of the platform to be stopped, accusing it of manipulating facts.

According to Business Insider, inaccuracies have already been found on the pages of Grokipedia. For example, in Musk's own biography, there was a mistake: it stated that former US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy allegedly led DOGE after Musk's departure, although in fact, the politician left the project long before this.

Grokipedia and the AI Grok

Grokipedia is integrated with Grok - the artificial intelligence from xAI, which has previously been embroiled in controversies over the dissemination of misinformation and conspiracy theories. Despite this, Elon Musk is confident that in the future Grok will be able to 'rewrite all human knowledge, correcting errors and adding missing facts.'

It is also worth mentioning a massive page theft on Facebook, where scammers used a new way to bypass the protection.

Elon Musk is not only known for his ambitious projects in technology and space but also adds fuel to the competition between online encyclopedias by offering a new solution in the form of Grokipedia. However, the first instances of inaccuracies and technical problems may call into question the future of this project and lead to further improvements.
