Massive Attack by Russia on December 27

The massive attack by Russia on December 27 caused disruptions to electricity and heat supply in Kyiv. In response to these challenges, autonomous boilers powered by diesel fuel were deployed to support medical institutions. This decision became necessary due to the damage to several key energy facilities in the region as a result of the attack.

Autonomous Heating in Medical Institutions

Autonomous heating has been provided in six healthcare institutions, including:

  • Clinical Hospital No. 9
  • Clinical Hospital No. 2
  • Maternity Hospital No. 1
  • City Perinatal Center
  • Children's Clinical Hospital No. 2
  • Veterans' Labor Pension

This allows for comfortable conditions for patients and medical staff, despite the challenging situation in the capital.

The situation in the capital agglomeration is extremely complex.

As of today, electricity in Kyiv and the region is beginning to stabilize within two to three days, however, the forced emergency power outages continue to impact the lives of residents. In these conditions, autonomous boilers are an important element in ensuring the stability of medical institutions, which undoubtedly contributes to the preservation of the population's health.

This situation underscores the importance of ensuring the continuity of critical infrastructure operations, especially in wartime conditions. The implementation of autonomous heating systems in medical institutions is a necessary step for maintaining the vitality of the population and preserving medical services during an energy crisis. It is crucial for government authorities to continue working on the restoration of energy capacities and the protection of key infrastructure objects from further attacks.
