Mykolaiv: Three Residents of a Private Home Wounded in Russian UAV Attack

A Russian drone strike targeted the city of Mykolaiv, leaving three residents of a private residence injured. Among the victims were a man born in 1985 who suffered shrapnel wounds, along with two women born in 1986 and 2008. All three were taken to the hospital for treatment.

This attack is part of a broader pattern of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which has intensified in recent months. A large fire broke out at the scene of the strike. Fourteen private homes were damaged, with two completely destroyed. Two vehicles were also hit. To manage the aftermath, 30 emergency responders deployed to the site, operating eight specialized vehicles from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU). The response team included:

  • chemists
  • sappers
  • law enforcement officers
  • medical personnel
  • volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross

Governor of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim reported a subsequent attack on the city using Shahed drones. During this second wave, another man was injured and also hospitalized. The follow-up strike damaged buildings at a transport company and several vehicles.

“Emergency workers rescued a man born in 1985 with shrapnel injuries and two women born in 1986 and 2008 from a damaged building. They were hospitalized.” - SESU

Vitaliy Kim added: “A man was injured and taken to the hospital. Buildings at a transport enterprise and cars were damaged.”

These events unfolded amid widespread Russian attacks on Ukraine, including an overnight assault on June 11 involving two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 221 strike UAVs. The drone types used included Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parody. The official report on these incidents was recorded on June 12, 2026.

These attacks highlight Russia's ongoing military campaign against Ukraine, causing severe harm to civilians. The resulting fires and infrastructure destruction endanger lives and place additional strain on rescue services. The situation in the region remains tense, and such assaults are likely to have lasting effects on security and stability.

The recent drone strikes in Mykolaiv highlight a troubling escalation in the ongoing conflict, which is part of a larger wave of assaults across Ukraine.
