Kyiv Activates 1,300 Emergency Aid Stations Following Major Power Grid Attack

Київ відкриває тисячу триста пунктів швидкої допомоги після серйозного удару по енергетичній системі.

Emergency Aid Stations in Kyiv Following January 24th Attack

In response to a large-scale assault on the power grid on January 24th, Kyiv has established a network of emergency support centers for its residents. As of January 25th, 1,300 'Invincibility Points' are operational across the city, providing critical assistance during this difficult period. These attacks on energy infrastructure are part of a wider campaign that has targeted Ukraine's civilian power supply for over a year. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko confirmed that these stations are operating around the clock and will continue their services until the situation stabilizes.

Services Provided at Heating Points

The heating and aid points offer several essential services, including:

  • A warm place to shelter;
  • Access to hot beverages;
  • Device charging stations;
  • Communication services.

In Kyiv, the State Emergency Service (SES) manages 91 such heating points, strategically placed among residential buildings in various neighborhoods. The most severe power outage situation is currently in the Desnianskyi district, where tens of thousands of households remain without electricity.

To improve service capacity, authorities are preparing to deploy two additional aid stations, each covering 700 square meters. In areas completely without power, tents and modular inflatable structures have been prepared to provide support to local residents.

The deployment of these aid stations is a crucial step in responding to the emergency caused by the attacks on energy infrastructure. Authorities are actively working to ensure necessary conditions for residents facing difficulties accessing electricity and heat. Such initiatives are designed not only to support the population in the immediate crisis but also to enhance preparedness for similar situations in the future.
