Major Attack Hits Kyiv
At least four people were killed and 23 others wounded—including a child and a pregnant woman—when a large-scale assault struck Kyiv overnight on June 15. - Pechersk District: A 17-story building was struck, and the roof of the Dormition Cathedral within the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery complex caught fire.
- Shevchenko District: Residential buildings, retail outlets, and businesses were damaged, including a hit on an eight-story structure.
- Holosiiv District: Fires broke out at warehouse facilities, and a residential building sustained damage.
- Sviatoshyn District: Residential areas were damaged.
- Podil District: A private home and a three-story building were set ablaze.
- Dnipro District: A private home was damaged.
'This night, Russia attacked Ukraine. The heaviest blow was dealt to Kyiv,' said Metropolitan Epifaniy.
Power outages have left 140,000 customers in the northern part of the capital without electricity, compounding difficulties for residents. Rescue teams remain on-site, working to mitigate the impact of the attack.
