Massive missile and drone attack on energy facilities in Ukraine


As a result of the Russian massive missile and drone attack on energy facilities in Ukraine, many consumers were left without electricity supply in Kyiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Odesa regions.



According to the data from 'Ukrenergo', emergency power outages were implemented to normalize the energy situation in the affected regions. They plan to restore power supplies after stabilization. Energy workers are working on this for the quickest possible restoration of electricity.



‘Energy workers are working to restore stable electricity supply as quickly as possible,’ the press service reported.


Attack on the energy system: reaction of the Ukrainian leadership


President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Russian Federation carried out a night attack on the Ukrainian energy system using more than 450 drones and three dozen missiles. This attack was in response to the shelling conducted by Russian occupiers in 2022.



Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha called on international partners to pay attention to Russian attacks on critically important civil infrastructure in Ukraine and respond to these threats appropriately.



After the massive missile and drone attack on energy facilities in Ukraine, a significant number of consumers were left without electricity supply. The government of Ukraine is working on restoring stable electricity supply and responding to Russia's aggressive actions against the country's critical infrastructure.
