Aftermath of the Nighttime Strike on Kyiv
A heavy overnight bombardment of Kyiv resulted in widespread destruction and fires across multiple areas of the capital. The Obolon district bore the brunt of the attack, where warehouse facilities went up in flames and roughly 30 vehicles were destroyed. In one high-rise building within this district, a fire caused structural damage between the third and fourth floors. The Solomianskyi district saw a strike on a nine-story building, with flames consuming the fifth and sixth floors. Rescue teams managed to save 12 residents, including three children.
The Shevchenkivskyi district suffered damage as well, with strikes hitting a non-residential building, commercial properties, and homes. In a 25-story structure there, three people were rescued, and one individual with burns was freed from an elevator and hospitalized. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze in Shevchenkivskyi.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a warehouse building ignited, and a critical infrastructure facility was struck. The Podilskyi district experienced fires in both a private home and an apartment building. In the Dniprovskyi district, a private residence was damaged, while the Desnianskyi district saw a fire break out on the grounds of an educational institution. In the Darnytskyi district, debris caused a fire, whereas in the Sviatoshynskyi district, falling fragments damaged residential buildings without sparking flames.
