Attacks on Ukrainian Cities on April 25

On the night of April 25, the Russian military launched attacks on Ukrainian cities using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. Strikes were reported in:

  • Dnipro
  • Kharkiv
  • Shostka
  • Nizhyn
  • Synelnykove
  • Kherson region
  • Mykolaiv region
  • Kryvyi Rih
  • Bila Tserkva

These events mark an escalation in the already tense security situation that has gripped Ukraine in recent days.

Aftermath of the Strikes

In Dnipro, the attacks sparked multiple fires and caused damage to residential buildings. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, stated that preliminary reports indicate no casualties. In Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district, several impacts were recorded, with authorities still assessing the consequences, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

As of April 25, drone and missile attacks also targeted Shostka, explosions were heard in Nizhyn, and threats emerged in Synelnykove and Kryvyi Rih. Additionally, cruise missiles were launched from the Kherson region toward Mykolaiv. In Bila Tserkva, drone activity was observed overhead.

These strikes follow a previous assault on Dnipro on the night of April 23, which involved attack drones. That earlier attack destroyed apartments from the 9th to the 6th floors of a high-rise building and cut off water, gas, and electricity supplies. Across Dnipro, at least 13 buildings were damaged, with over 500 windows shattered. Among the destroyed structures were an exhibition center belonging to the Union of Artists of Ukraine and a musical instrument store.

A memorial ceremony for the victims of the attacks was held on April 24. It was reported that civilians were among those killed in the assaults on April 16 and 23.

These latest attacks underscore the prolonged nature of the military conflict and its devastating impact on civilians in Ukraine. Facing constant threats from Russian forces, local residents endure severe challenges related to safety and infrastructure restoration. Tensions in the region remain high, prompting the international community to intensify its response to the situation.

The recent missile and drone strikes on Dnipro and other Ukrainian cities highlight a concerning trend of escalating violence. In a related incident, Russian forces launched over 30 strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in significant civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.
