As of 04:40, fires and damage to residential buildings and facilities were recorded in the capital. At that time, air defense forces were active in Kyiv. Timur Tkachenko urged residents to stay in shelters during air alerts as explosions were heard in the city.

Situation in Slavutych and its consequences for residents

At the same time, on the night of January 9, the city of Slavutych in Kyiv Oblast experienced a total blackout. This is likely a result of previous attacks. Currently, 6 thousand apartment buildings in Kyiv are without heating, which complicates the situation for the residents of the capital.
