Russia Launches Major Nighttime Assault with Drones and Missiles Across Ukraine

В Україні триває масований напад ворожої авіації за допомогою дронів та ракет під покровом ночі.

Widespread Russian Military Strike Targets Ukrainian Cities

In the early hours of February 17, Russian forces carried out a large-scale assault across Ukraine, deploying attack drones and missiles. The offensive targeted multiple locations, including:

  • Burshtyn
  • Zaporizhzhia
  • Dnipro
  • Lozova
  • Odesa
  • Chornomorsk
  • Stryi
  • Vilniansk
  • the front line

During the attack on Dnipro, explosions from ballistic missiles and strike drones were reported. Simultaneously, Russian forces struck Odesa, damaging infrastructure and civilian buildings. Two people were injured in Odesa and are receiving medical care. These strikes are part of a pattern of intensified attacks on urban centers, which have become more frequent in recent months.

Conflict Duration and International Response

This assault occurred on the 1455th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine, underscoring the protracted nature of the conflict and the ongoing threat to civilians. The war, which began with Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, has escalated significantly since the full-scale invasion in 2022.

This latest attack is part of Russia's prolonged military campaign against Ukraine. The increasing intensity of strikes on major cities signals a dangerous escalation, likely to result in further civilian casualties and greater infrastructure destruction. The international community's response to these events remains crucial, as it could significantly influence the future trajectory of the conflict in the region.
