Situation with Electricity Supply on Enthusiasts Street
As of January 11, 2026, residents of the buildings on Enthusiasts Street remain without electricity for more than 60 hours due to outages. The situation is complicated by freezing temperatures around -10°C and the aftermath of shelling of heating facilities. Electricity went out on Friday night, causing serious inconveniences for the residents.
According to information available, by the morning of January 11, most high-rise buildings had been connected to electricity, however, over a thousand houses still remain without heating. Due to infrastructure damage after the last massive attack by the enemy, six thousand high-rise buildings are without heating.
As noted by the mayor Vitali Klitschko, 'over a thousand houses remain without heating in the capital. In other areas, the supply of the heat carrier has been restored.'
Challenges for Residents
Residents of Enthusiasts Street continue to wait for electricity restoration, which has become particularly critical in cold weather conditions. The situation raises many questions regarding the promptness of response to emergencies, since living without electricity and heating in such conditions is extremely difficult.
The lack of electricity supply and heating in freezing conditions poses serious challenges for residents, especially for the elderly and children, who suffer the most from the cold. Authorities need to take urgent measures to restore the energy infrastructure to avoid similar situations in the future. Moreover, it is important for residents to be informed about the progress of restoration works and to have access to alternative sources of heat and electricity during emergencies.
