Meta Introduces Major Enhancements to Ray-Ban Display Smart Glasses
At the Meta Connect 2026 event, Meta revealed an updated version of its Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, packed with innovative features. A standout addition is the ability to use a photorealistic holographic avatar during calls, generated by the Meta AI app. This hologram replaces traditional video feeds, offering a more immersive communication experience. Early access to this holographic avatar feature will be available to WhatsApp users in the U.S. starting in fall 2026.
Beyond holographic avatars, the new glasses offer voice-activated navigation tailored for cyclists and public transit users. The system uses nearby landmarks—such as “turn by the yellow building”—to guide users more intuitively. This voice navigation will initially launch in the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, Dolby Atmos support has been integrated to enhance both audio recording and playback quality.

The update also brings several other improvements, including on-device photo editing directly on the Display screen, a more detailed calendar interface, smartphone notification mirroring, and integration with Threads for community feeds.
The refreshed Ray-Ban Display glasses are now available for purchase in the U.K., Canada, France, Italy, and Germany. Pricing varies by region:
- United Kingdom: starting at £749 (approximately 45,000 UAH)

In Ukraine, prices for the Ray-Ban Meta Display Standard range between 74,999 and 89,899 UAH, according to E-Katalog data.
“Your voice fully controls your hologram, and the hologram’s model reflects your facial expressions based on what you say and how you say it,” Meta stated in its press release.
This significant update to Ray-Ban Display glasses underscores Meta’s commitment to advancing augmented reality and AI integration in everyday technology. The introduction of holographic avatars and enhanced navigation tools has the potential to transform user interaction, offering new ways to communicate and navigate the world.
