Support from Metinvest for the Azov Battalion
As part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front initiative, Metinvest has provided the 1st Battalion of the 12th Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine with a shipment of assistance valued at roughly UAH 12 million. This delivery includes a range of equipment essential for carrying out combat missions effectively.
Contents of the Aid Package
The shipment consists of:
- 6 vehicles to enhance unit mobility;
- 2 generators for field electricity supply;
- 27 optics kits, including:
- 10 collimator sights with magnifiers;
- 17 laser target designators;
- 25 rechargeable batteries and drone components;
- 10 laptops for drone control and data processing.
Oleksandr Vodoviz, head of the office of the CEO of Metinvest Group, stated:
“This is one of the units setting the pace on the battlefield. Our mission is to provide them exactly with what is needed here and now: vehicles, optics, drone equipment. Each delivery is tailored to combat requests, and we see how this aid makes a difference. The Steel Front is not a one-off campaign; it is systematic work that Rinat Akhmetov has been leading since the first day of the full-scale war.”
The Azov Brigade also emphasized the importance of the received support, saying:
“Every item on this list corresponds to a specific combat task we can now perform more effectively. Vehicles, optics, drone gear—the Steel Front addresses the needs that determine outcomes on the battlefield.”
This delivery of aid from Metinvest to the Azov unit marks a significant step in backing Ukrainian forces in their fight.
