The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German company MAN Truck & Bus. The document outlines the framework for cooperation in the field of industrial development, localization of production, involving Ukrainian enterprises in global supply chains, and supporting investment projects in Ukraine.
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksiy Sobolev and the member of the management board for sales and customer service at MAN Truck & Bus SE Friedrich Baumann. The signing took place on December 15 during the Eighth Berlin Economic Forum.
Areas of Cooperation
The document provides for cooperation in several strategic areas, including:
- the development of production and supply of wheeled vehicles based on MAN solutions;
- the expansion of participation of Ukrainian manufacturers in MAN supply chains, particularly in metallurgy, machine engineering, and IT;
- support for the reconstruction and development of the automotive public transport sector;
- interaction in the fields of innovation and modern transport solutions;
- exploration of direct and indirect investment opportunities in Ukraine.
Special attention in the Memorandum is paid to the localization of production and support for Ukrainian businesses. In particular, it concerns:
- involving Ukrainian companies in the production processes of MAN;
- holding specialized events to showcase the capabilities of Ukrainian suppliers;
- developing cooperation in the field of bus production and service maintenance.
The implementation of specific initiatives will be carried out based on separate agreements, annexes, and roadmaps.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture continues to develop cooperation and attract foreign investments into the Ukrainian economy through agreements with well-known global companies such as MAN Truck & Bus. This agreement establishes strategic areas of cooperation and opens opportunities for the development of production and supply of equipment at Ukrainian factories.
