The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, together with UNICEF, has signed an agreement on cooperation regarding water resource management, waste management, and ecological education for youth. The implementation of these joint projects is planned over the next two years.
It is planned to improve water resource management, create pilot clusters for waste management, increase ecological education and youth engagement, as well as adapt European standards in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy and UNICEF plan to enhance cooperation by updating the Memorandum, conducting information campaigns, creating a national water cadastre and pilot clusters for waste, developing programs to engage youth in ecological policy, and implementing legislative changes regarding waste and chemical safety.
The agreement between the Ministry of Economy and UNICEF is an important step towards sustainable development and environmental preservation in Ukraine, aimed at effective water resource management, reducing waste volumes, and raising public ecological awareness, especially among the youth.
