The head of the US Treasury calls on Europe to help end the war in Ukraine
According to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessen, Russia's war against Ukraine could end within 60-90 days if European countries impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil. He emphasized this in an interview with Reuters.
'We expect the Europeans to now do their part, and we are not moving forward without them,' Bessen noted.
Additionally, Bessen criticized those European countries that continue to purchase Russian oil or oil products obtained from Russian raw materials, which effectively finances the Russian war.
Thus, the United States is ready to cooperate with European countries to strengthen sanctions against Russian companies, including 'Rosneft' and 'Lukoil'. The possible use of frozen Russian sovereign assets after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine is also being considered.
