Call to Ukrainians in difficult weather conditions
Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko urged Ukrainians to call emergency medical services only in urgent cases due to complications caused by worsening weather conditions. Currently, Ukraine is experiencing a drop in temperature, snowfalls, blizzards, and icy conditions, which complicate the work of ambulance services.
Lyashko noted that when a team responds to a call without a threat to life, it can lead to another person who really needs urgent medical assistance not receiving it in time. The minister emphasized the importance of rational use of emergency medical resources under worsening weather conditions.
Situation across the country
Difficult weather conditions persist throughout the country. Road services are operating in enhanced mode to ensure safety on highways. However, despite these efforts, the weather continues to create difficulties. Snow and wet snow are expected, but the intensity of precipitation is expected to decrease over time.
In light of these conditions, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine instructed the Ministry of Education and Science to consider the issue of temporarily suspending the educational process in face-to-face format. The government recommends educational institutions transition to online learning or extend winter vacations at least until January 19, 2026. This decision is also related to the need to ensure the safety of students and teachers in difficult weather conditions.
Considering the worsening weather conditions and their impact on various areas of life, Ukrainians should be particularly careful with their actions and decisions. The Minister of Health's call for cautious use of emergency medical care underscores the importance of preserving resources for those who truly need urgent help. Meanwhile, transitioning to online learning may help avoid dangerous situations for students and teachers, reducing risks associated with moving in difficult weather conditions.
