Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Strategy
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has unveiled a comprehensive war plan built around three core objectives. This strategy aims to establish air superiority, halt enemy advances across all domains, and cripple Russia's economic capacity to wage war.
Strategic Objectives
- First Objective: Secure the skies to protect Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure. Fedorov stated the necessity of identifying 100% of aerial threats in real time and intercepting at least 95% of missiles and drones.
- Second Objective: Stop the enemy on land, at sea, and in cyberspace. Ukraine has set a benchmark of inflicting over 200 enemy casualties for every square kilometer of territory.
- Third Objective: Deprive Russia of the economic resources needed to sustain its war effort, specifically targeting the so-called 'shadow fleet' used to sell oil globally.
This plan underscores Ukraine's strategic, multi-domain approach to national defense in the face of complex threats. The successful implementation of these goals could significantly alter the conflict's trajectory and bolster international support for Ukraine. Achieving air dominance and undermining the enemy's war economy are seen as critical to degrading Russia's long-term military capabilities.
