An incident occurred at a school in the city of Lviv, which was commented on by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. He emphasized that such situations should not happen in Ukrainian schools. During the conflict, shots were fired, resulting in one person being injured.
The educational security service quickly intervened, detained and disarmed the attacker, and also summoned investigators and medical personnel. The minister highlighted the effectiveness of the professional actions that helped avoid further threats. The regional police were also informed about the incident.
“This case highlighted a critical issue that I often talk about: educational institutions are not adequately protected by basic security measures,” emphasized Ihor Klymenko.
The injured person is in the hospital, and their condition is assessed as satisfactory. The police interviewed participants and witnesses of the event, as well as school staff. The weapon used in the attack has been seized for examination.
