Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha visited Slovakia, where he ceremoniously opened the General Consulate of Ukraine in the city of Presov. This event will increase Ukraine's diplomatic presence in Slovakia and assist in providing consular support for 40 thousand Ukrainians in the Kosice and Presov regions.
Ministers of foreign affairs from both countries, as well as representatives of local authorities and the Ukrainian community, were present at the ceremony. The Slovak foreign minister emphasized the importance of supporting peace for Ukraine and Europe and called for further pressure on the aggressor.
“Many Ukrainians have remained in Slovakia after Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and we are always ready to help them”
Development of relations and support for Ukrainians
The opening of the consulate will create new opportunities for cooperation between the countries and improve conditions for Ukrainians living in Slovakia. The Slovak minister also mentioned Slovakia's role in providing assistance to Ukraine, including the delivery of electric generators to Sumy.
Meetings of this level between Ukrainian and Slovak authorities contribute to the development of friendly relations and support for Ukrainians abroad.
