Ukraine and Cyprus agreed to expand assistance to children: details of the meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha met with the Ambassador of Cyprus in Ukraine Michalis Firillas. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Cyprus at various levels, including in the areas of security, peace efforts, and the reconstruction of Ukraine.



Particular attention was paid to Cyprus's readiness to support Ukraine in the context of joining the European Union. The Minister expressed gratitude for Cyprus's constant support in connection with the Russian invasion and emphasized the importance of joint efforts on the path to Eurointegration.



“Ukraine considers joining the European Union as an important element of security guarantees for our state. We appreciate the readiness of our Cypriot partners to work together to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation on the path to Ukraine's Eurointegration,” the Foreign Minister noted.


The Ambassador of Cyprus confirmed support and readiness to facilitate bilateral cooperation and joint projects. It was also agreed to expand the program for the recovery and rehabilitation of children from frontline regions of Ukraine in Cyprus.



During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ambassador of Cyprus discussed key issues of cooperation between the countries, including support for Ukraine's EU membership and assistance programs for the recovery of children from frontline regions. Both parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation and joint efforts on the path to Eurointegration.
