Armored Loader-Excavator UAT-SPIDER
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has officially cataloged the UAT-SPIDER, an armored loader-excavator specifically designed to support the engineering units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After successfully completing rigorous testing, this machine has been authorized for deployment within the military.
Purpose and Specifications of the UAT-SPIDER
The UAT-SPIDER fulfills a variety of crucial engineering tasks on the battlefield, including:
- setting up defensive positions and command posts;
- constructing and repairing military roads;
- creating temporary routes;
- excavating trenches and pits;
- and other essential earthmoving operations.
A key feature of this excavator is its armored cabin and vital components, meeting the STANAG 4569 Level 1 standard, which offers protection against small arms fire and mines.
Weighing just over 10 tons, the UAT-SPIDER can lift loads exceeding 3 tons. It is capable of reaching speeds up to 40 km/h and does not require a trailer for transport, enhancing its battlefield mobility.
