Ukraine's Defense Ministry Trials Deferment for Parents of Three or More Children via 'Reserve+' App

Міністерство оборони України тестує можливість відстрочки для батьків трьох і більше дітей через застосунок 'Резерв+'.

New Feature Undergoes Beta Testing in 'Reserve+' Application

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is launching a beta test for a new function within the 'Reserve+' mobile application. This feature will allow parents with three or more children from different marriages to apply for a deferment from military mobilization online. Once testing is complete, the function will become available to the general public.

The 'Reserve+' app already provides an online deferment process for single parents raising a child. Previously, an online deferment was only possible if all children were born within the same marriage. This new function will account for all children under the age of 18, regardless of the parents' marital history. The Ministry of Defense also announced the beta launch of new deferment categories and is testing the ability to register for military service directly through the 'Reserve+' app. This digital expansion is part of broader efforts to modernize military administration during a period of national mobilization.

Eligibility Requirements for the Test

The conditions for participating in the test are:

  • having three or more children under the age of 18;
  • having no outstanding alimony debts.

Users wishing to utilize the new function must ensure their personal data (full name, date of birth, tax identification number) is correctly recorded in state registries. The children for whom the deferment is sought must have been born in Ukraine. If the data in the registries is outdated or if there is an alimony debt exceeding the sum of three monthly payments, the deferment will not be granted. In such cases, parents must settle the debt and update their registry information.

Consequently, the new feature undergoing beta testing aims to simplify the deferment process for parents of multiple children, aligning with contemporary societal needs. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes the importance of verifying registry data and adhering to all eligibility conditions to obtain a deferment.

The introduction of this new function in the 'Reserve+' app responds to the needs of large families in Ukraine who may face difficulties during mobilization. According to the Ministry, this new approach to processing deferments is expected to simplify the procedure for parents with children from different marriages, reducing bureaucratic hurdles. It also highlights the state's efforts to ensure social fairness and support for families amidst the military challenges the country faces.
