'The State Logistics Operator' of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has purchased 200,000 individual heating devices – insertable insoles with electric heating elements for feet through the Prozorro system for military personnel.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the purchased individual heating devices meet the technical specifications developed and approved by the Central Department for Material Support Development in 2025.
Characteristics of individual heating devices
Each set contains a pair of insoles, a connector with a fixing system, a wire, a switch, and a USB type A connector. The insoles connect to a Power Bank and should provide at least 6 hours of heat output.
- the surface temperature of the insoles under normal operating conditions – from 40 °C;
- the thickness of the insoles – 7.5-9.7 mm;
- the wire length – 2.35-2.6 m.
Chemical heaters for military personnel were also purchased
In October 2025, the Ministry of Defense's Logistics Department purchased another type of individual heating devices – 300,000 chemical heaters under the updated technical specifications. These devices are intended for the individual heating of hands, feet, and body of military personnel in low temperatures.
The surface temperature of the heaters under normal operating conditions – not less than 40 °C, the duration of heat output – not less than 6 hours.
- Each set includes:
- 2 body heating devices;
- 2 hand heating devices;
- 2 foot heating devices (half insoles).
The updated version includes specified sizes for each type of heater and aims to ensure comfort and reliability for military personnel during combat missions.
During combat missions, military personnel often find themselves in extreme conditions, so such procurement of individual heating devices is important for ensuring their comfort and combat readiness. The emphasis on compliance with technical specifications indicates a responsible approach from the military authorities.
