Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Launches ‘Logistics Lockdown’ Initiative with $125 Million to Strike Enemy

Міністерство оборони України розпочало ініціативу «Логістичний блокпост» з бюджетом 125 мільйонів доларів для боротьби з ворогом.

Introducing the 'Logistics Lockdown' Program

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has rolled out a new initiative called 'Logistics Lockdown,' designed to expand medium-range strike capabilities and dismantle Russian military assets deep behind the front lines. A total of 5 billion hryvnias (approximately $125 million) has been allocated to purchase the necessary equipment.

Recent trends on the battlefield show a marked shift: Russian forces are suffering increasingly heavy losses per square kilometer of territory they advance into. In October, these losses reached 67 soldiers per square kilometer, down from 179 in April. Moscow reports losing over 35,000 troops killed or severely wounded each month. Over the past several months, Ukraine has quadrupled its destruction of enemy logistics hubs, ammunition depots, military vehicles, command centers, and supply routes.

Program Phases

Under the first phase of the 'Logistics Lockdown' program, the allocated 5 billion hryvnias will fund the procurement of medium-range strike systems. The most effective brigades and units, selected through the 'eBaly' system, will receive these funds.

“The first units have already received funding, and direct purchases have begun,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.
He emphasized that strategic decisions to scale up medium-strike capabilities, along with disabling Starlink access for Russian forces, have become key factors in Ukraine’s technological edge on the battlefield.

In the program’s second phase, tenders will be launched to procure a large batch of medium-range strike systems. Additionally, the Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) has contracted a record number of long-range 155-mm artillery shells, achieving a 16% cost saving through competitive bidding. Customs procedures for importing foreign components have been streamlined for Ukrainian enterprises, which is expected to accelerate the procurement process.

“By summer, the results of centralized medium-strike procurement will be felt on the front lines. The enemy will no longer feel safe, even far from the combat zone,” Fedorov added.

The 'Logistics Lockdown' program aims not only to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities but also to create conditions for maximum efficiency in countering the aggressor.

This initiative underscores Ukraine’s determination to significantly strengthen its defensive posture and reduce the effectiveness of Russian forces on the battlefield. With the enemy suffering mounting losses and Ukraine successfully targeting critical infrastructure, this program could prove decisive in shifting the conflict’s trajectory. Its importance is highlighted not just by the financial commitment, but by the strategic moves that may alter the balance of power at the front.

As Ukraine enhances its military strategies, the emphasis on deep strikes is becoming increasingly critical. The latest initiatives aim to target Russian logistics effectively, ensuring a more significant impact on enemy operations.
