Нові вимоги до медичного обстеження: за якими критеріями оцінюватимуть лікарі.

Changes to the definition of the suitability of citizens for military service

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has prepared a package of changes to the documents regulating the determination of the suitability of citizens for military service. The main goal of these changes is to review the list of diseases and to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the overall health status of recruits. It is noted that the innovations are aimed at improving service efficiency and reducing risks for the military.

Changes to the order of the Ministry of Defense No. 402 have already been prepared. Military ombudswoman Olga Reshetilova emphasized that

“the determination of suitability must be comprehensive”
. This indicates the Ministry of Defense's intention to take into account not only individual diseases but also the overall health status of soldiers, which is important for ensuring their combat readiness.

Diseases that doctors will pay attention to

Among the diseases that doctors will now pay attention to during medical examinations are:

  • diabetes mellitus
  • sciatica
  • high blood pressure

These changes can significantly affect the selection criteria, which, in turn, may improve the medical support of soldiers and reduce the risks associated with their service.

The introduction of new criteria for determining suitability for military service reflects the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine's desire to adapt to modern requirements and realities. Considering the growing needs for ensuring the combat readiness of the military, such steps can positively affect the overall health of the army. The assessment of not only individual diseases but also the overall health status of recruits is important for forming a more effective and resilient military contingent.
