The Ministry of Community Development and Territories has presented a new model for assessing the viability of territorial communities. Representatives of international aid programs, experts, and associations of local self-government were present at the event.

Participants in the discussion analyzed the approaches to evaluation and the criteria on which the level of community viability is based. The model takes into account 24 criteria, grouped into four categories, with weighting coefficients.

The assessment of community viability will be conducted separately for rural, settlement, and urban associations based on reliable data from government authorities. This system will help identify the development and support needs of each community.

In developing the new model, experts and participants in aid programs played an important role, and joint work with them will allow for the creation of a more equitable and flexible community assessment system, taking into account their needs and characteristics.
